A capacity-building workshop on “Fostering Effective Learning Through Learner-Centric Approach” was conducted for teachers on 2nd June 2025 The initiative aimed to empower educators with modern pedagogical strategies that prioritize the learner’s needs, interests, and participation in the learning process.
The workshop began with a inspiring speech by the resource person and he also highlighted
on how understanding individual learning styles can enhance teaching effectiveness. The
psychometric assessment conducted for teachers was as eye-opening session in terms of
discovering aspects of their personality that affect their teaching style.
A detailed explanation was given on four learning styles as follows ,
Diverger: Strong in imaginative ability and viewing situations from multiple perspectives. Learns best through observation and reflection.
Converger: Excels at practical application of ideas. Problem-solver and decision-maker, prefers technical tasks.
Assimilator: Prefers theoretical models and logical reasoning. Strength lies in creating concepts and abstract thinking.
Accommodator: Relies on intuition rather than logic. Enjoys hands-on experience and is adaptive and action-oriented.
Post lunch the resource person facilitated a lively and insightful activity titled “Buying and Selling Paper Shirts.”. The activity simulated a real-world exchange scenario, emphasizing key psychological and interpersonal skills.Follwed by it an interactive Q&A session allowed teachers to ask specific questions and seek advice on challenges they face in their classrooms
The workshop successfully highlighted the importance and effectiveness of a learner-centered approach. It encouraged educators to foster a learning environment where students are active participants in their own education. The session concluded with a call to integrate these strategies into daily teaching practices for improved learning outcomes.
