Navakar Divas is a significant religious observance in Jainism, dedicated to the Navakar Mantra, a sacred prayer that holds great importance in Jain worship. The day is celebrated to express gratitude for these spiritual leaders and to focus on self-reflection, prayer, and spiritual growth. Its message and benefits extend beyond cultural and religious boundaries, making it a universally meaningful mantra.
Our school celebrated Navakar Divas and Lord Mahavir Jayanti on April 9th, with the theme "One World, One Chant, Together for Peace." The event began with the collective chanting of the Navakar Mantra, a significant Jain prayer praising the five revered beings: Arihants, Siddhas, Acharyas, Upadhyays, and Sadhu.
Mrs. Rekha Sonalki, Jainism teacher, addressed the gathering, explaining the importance of the Navakar Mantra and also gave a insightful talk on the life of Lord Mahavir, highlighting his teachings on non-violence (Ahimsa), truth (Satya), and self-discipline, which continue to inspire people worldwide.
