On 29th May 2025, AMT Jain Public School conducted a “FIRE DRILL” session aimed at educating and training the school staff on how to respond swiftly and efficiently in the event of a fire emergency. The primary focus was on ensuring safety, the proper use of firefighting equipment, and following correct evacuation procedures. A total of 60 staff members participated in the session.
The session was led by Mr. Muthuveerapan, Station Officer of the Madhavaram Fire and Rescue Department, along with his team. The program began with an awareness talk on the importance of fire safety in educational institutions, followed by a live demonstration of various fire extinguishers and the types of fires they are used for. An interactive Q&A session allowed staff members to clarify doubts and receive practical advice. The fire officers provided constructive feedback, highlighting areas for improvement such as evacuation speed and equipment access, while commending the staff’s discipline and cooperation. Overall, the session proved to be highly informative, instilling confidence among the staff in handling fire emergencies and emphasizing the need for regular drills and continued safety awareness.
