Acharya Mahashraman Terapanth Jain Public School, Madhavaram celebrated its 4th Annual Sports meet on 30 July in the grounds of Agarsen College, Madhavaram in a frolicsome atmosphere. It was presided by the Chief Guest Mr. Ukkrapandian, National Volleyball player, and Guest of Honour Mr. Pyarelal Pitaliya, Chairman, Jain Terapanth Welfare Trust.
Our Sports Day celebration commenced with a formal segment starting with prayer followed by a welcome address. The grand opening ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Guests, School Committee Members, our Correspondent and our Principal. The Chief guest Mr. Ukkrapandian, declared the meet open, and released balloons symbolizing the vibrant hopes of the sporting students that were flying high.
The sports day began with the parade that showcased the symbols of Tamil Nadu by kindergarten and pre-primary students followed by
March Past that was led by the marching band followed by school captains and the four houses (Akash, Agni, Prithvi and Samudra). The squads marched in unison as a cheer went up from the audience. The oath was taken and pledges were made. The Presidential address was delivered by both the guests to the gathering on importance of sports and advised the parents to encourage the children to take part in sports.
The event was marked by a string of spectacular performances presented by the students of the school like rainbow splash, dance with smile, hoop buskers etc who were brimming with enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The long awaited athletic events included track events like 100m, 200m, 400m and relay .The prizes were awarded to the winners by our chief guest Mr. Ukkara Pandian and other School Committee Members.
Students huddled up waiting anxiously for the results. Then came the announcement!!! The Best marching contingent award went to AKASH House ! The Overall rolling trophy of the year 2022-23 was bagged by PRITHVI ! and Individual Championship for the year 2022-23 was given to Renitaa Rhytham of grade 8! A loud cheer echoed in the ground as the winning house went on a victory lap.The prizes were given away by our correspondent Mr. Ashok I Bohara. The event came to an end successfully with the vote of thanks.
